This self portrait (cerca 2000-2005) influenced by Frida Kahlo, is bold, rich, and expressive; portraying inner strength, deep physical feeling -set with a background portraying an open artery- presents both melancholy and steadfast determination despite pain, sorrow, and suffering.

Julie is multi-talented as a National Award Winning Graphic Designer & Artist. Her formal education includes a BFA in Fine Art from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Texas as well as a MFA in Web Design and New Media, currently in progress, from the Academy of Art University in San Fransisco, California. She has been commissioned for portraits, faux finishes & murals in many private residences & government buildings. Julie works in many mediums to include oil, acrylic, watercolor, digital-media & photography.
